After reviewing the ELA standards the one that really stood out to me were the ones that applied to grade eleven and twelve. In your junior and senior year of high school it is very imperative that you are learning the basic requirements and skills to help prepare you for SAT/ACT and for college. Standard, Standards Technology 11-12 LAFS.1112.L.3.4, really sticks out because it deals with the students being able to comprehend and the meaning of words and phrases that they are unfamiliar with. Online dictionaries and other tools were super resourceful in highs school. They allowed me to be able to understand context that I was unfamiliar with. Teachers and students are both using the technology in the classroom because it is a skill that is going to be necessary in the future because technology is only going to grow from here on out. The ISTE standards for educators are very accurate in its goal towards helping students become empowered leaders. One standard that stands out to me is leader. A big part of being a teacher is being able to hold the role as a leader and being able to demonstrate it positively. Like the standards suggest, educators should be able to meet the diverse needs of all students, which is a huge role that a leader should demonstrate. One standard that I do not think that I have acquired skill for yet is learner. The standard learner requires educators to set goals, stay current with new research, and to be in...
