As a student, Microsoft Word has become a prominent piece of technology throughout my years of school thus far. When doing any type of project that involves essays, brochures, news letters, resumes, cover letters, and more I would use Microsoft Word to get the job done. Without Microsoft Word school projects and assignments would be more time consuming and probably less appealing to the eye. I'd have to say that teachers use Microsoft Word twice as much as the students. They use it for notes, project requirements, news letters, test, pretty much anything that is handed out on a piece of paper is being done through MS Word.
Copyright is something that I have struggled with over the course of the years. In classes such as theatre and student government you sometimes have to put songs on the background of videos but you can't do so because of copyright reasons. Websites, such as youtube, will deny you access to upload videos if they have copyright music. As a teacher I would use websites such as Creative Commons and introduce it to my students to help prevent copyright issues. Creative Commons allows you to use some rights reserved for free. I think that would be very helpful for students and teachers in the classroom.
Academic dishonesty and lack of funding are 2 technology issues that are very prominent in classrooms. With all this technology it makes it very easy for students to cheat whether its doing other students homework or looking up answer to a quiz. One way to fix academic dishonesty is to monitor the screens that students use when they are taking a quiz/test and doing assignments.  Lack of funding can be resolved through fundraisers or using technology as a class. For example the teacher would use her laptop and a projector instead of each student using their own laptop.

Currently I am attending Florida State University and hoping to pursuit a career as a Speech Pathologist which falls under the major of Communication Sciences and Disorders. I was always unsure of what I wanted to do in life but I have always had a love and passion for helping others and working with kids which is why I believe Speech Pathology to be a perfect career for me. In the past I have used a tremendous amount of techonlogy in the education setting. Throughout high school we used different technologies ranging from smartboards to projectors. We also had a Mac Computer Lab accessbile for students in journalism or yearbook class. Incoming freshman were required to sign up for a intro to technology class to help them get equipped with Word, Power Point, and Excel. In this class I hope to gain knoweldge about the advancemetns of technology. I want to apply those advancements of technology an...

Using Twitter has been an interesting experience. Prior to this class I would only use twitter for the social aspects. Using it for a class allows you to actually gain some sort of knowledge. The benefits of using twitter as a part of this class are that you can learn new things that developing within the education realm. I get updates from the United States education department almost daily and it is interesting to read the facts that they post.         After completing the Web Design assignment I realized how easy it was to make a website. I have worked with Wix Portfolio before but I didn't remember how to use it. I liked how they have templates already designed for you, it makes the process a lot easier if you're not creative. The only issue I had was when trying to put boxes around text it would not let me edit the text after so I had to copy the text, delete it and create a new text box, which was frustrating. Th...
