As a student, Microsoft Word has become a prominent piece of technology throughout my years of school thus far. When doing any type of project that involves essays, brochures, news letters, resumes, cover letters, and more I would use Microsoft Word to get the job done. Without Microsoft Word school projects and assignments would be more time consuming and probably less appealing to the eye. I'd have to say that teachers use Microsoft Word twice as much as the students. They use it for notes, project requirements, news letters, test, pretty much anything that is handed out on a piece of paper is being done through MS Word.
Copyright is something that I have struggled with over the course of the years. In classes such as theatre and student government you sometimes have to put songs on the background of videos but you can't do so because of copyright reasons. Websites, such as youtube, will deny you access to upload videos if they have copyright music. As a teacher I would use websites such as Creative Commons and introduce it to my students to help prevent copyright issues. Creative Commons allows you to use some rights reserved for free. I think that would be very helpful for students and teachers in the classroom.
Academic dishonesty and lack of funding are 2 technology issues that are very prominent in classrooms. With all this technology it makes it very easy for students to cheat whether its doing other students homework or looking up answer to a quiz. One way to fix academic dishonesty is to monitor the screens that students use when they are taking a quiz/test and doing assignments. Lack of funding can be resolved through fundraisers or using technology as a class. For example the teacher would use her laptop and a projector instead of each student using their own laptop.
