Before this class I had never even heard of Diigo. When first using the website I was a little confused on what its purpose was but after using it during class I learned that this source is very reliable and useful. Being in college requires you to write a lot of research papers and Diigo would be very beneficial when writing research papers because it allows you to store your sources and annotate them. I like how its very accessible but it is annoying that you can only really use it on Google Chrome.
Blogging thus far has been a good experience. In the past I had never blogged so it is nice to be able to try something new.  I like how I am able to talk in a more relaxed way because it is not strenuous at all. Blogging has made doing homework actually enjoyable.
When teaching a web 2.0 tool that I would implement would be Kahoot! Kahoot! is an awesome way to for students to learn.  When using Kahoot! you are able to input your own information and make it into an interactive game that your class can use. Its a really good way to review before a test and it creates a fun little competition. https://kahoot.com/

Using Twitter has been an interesting experience. Prior to this class I would only use twitter for the social aspects. Using it for a class allows you to actually gain some sort of knowledge. The benefits of using twitter as a part of this class are that you can learn new things that developing within the education realm. I get updates from the United States education department almost daily and it is interesting to read the facts that they post.         After completing the Web Design assignment I realized how easy it was to make a website. I have worked with Wix Portfolio before but I didn't remember how to use it. I liked how they have templates already designed for you, it makes the process a lot easier if you're not creative. The only issue I had was when trying to put boxes around text it would not let me edit the text after so I had to copy the text, delete it and create a new text box, which was frustrating. Th...

The flipped classroom approach is when you give the students the material online before the class. This means that the students are able to learn the material before class. Then, class time can be used for discussion and deeper clarification on the subject at hand. This approach allows the students to gain a better understanding of the information. An open educational resources are basically an online learning resource that are very accessible. These resources allow teachers to adapt these resources and use them with in their classroom free of charge, it helps broaden their material. The educational resource I am discussing can be found on through this link:    https://www.oercommons.org/courses/100-people-a-world-portrait/view . It provides you information on global issues, pictures, videos, stats, and ways to get involved.  The powerpoint assignment was very interesting. In my opinion the non-interactive powerpoint was harder than the interactive powerpoi...

ILP “Design” – Google Classroom

I did my Independent Learning Project on Google Classroom. Google classroom is an essential educational tools for teachers especially when working with online courses. It allows you to post announcements, due dates, any classwork, and it includes a roster with all the students emails. For my Voice Thread I created 6 slides where in the first slide I go over the entire google classroom. Every slide following is another brief description of explaining some aspects of google classroom. Listed below is the link to my voice thread: https://voicethread.com/share/13102567/
